Description

Problem*

Resolves #4709

Summary*

The issue is due to reference count instructions which blow-up during unrolling. Since these instructions are only for Brillig and since loops are not unrolled in Brillig, I simply discard them during unrolling.

Additional Context

I did not get an OOM on the mainframe, but the compilation lasted many hours and did not complete (I finally cancelled it). With the fix the execution is instantaneous, whether the code is constrained or unconstrained.

Why were inc & dec rc instructions building up but not other instructions? I'd expect if there were e.g. 6 of these per loop then it'd have the same effect as a loop with 6 more instructions per iter.

Since the array and its access indexes are constant, the regular instructions are properly simplified.

@guipublic Can you revert those changes to the circuit size and then just disable the debugger test. As we're testing that large constant arrays are usable in a circuit, it doesn't make sense to me to reduce the array being used to get the tests to pass.

We can address the debugger test in a later PR.
