I probably need to report this with google, but don't know how to report it to the appropriate place, and I figured that nvAccess might be able to help get that to the right place.
A user on the nvda list reported the following.
when on google when ever I try to type in a search result it will repeat the stuff I typed in as well as what I am typing at the current time
I am not sure if this is making any sense, if it is not I can try to provide a audio recording of it doing this but its driving me nuts
After a bit of discussion, we figured out that this occurs with internet explorer and nvda.
steps to reproduce.
Open google's home page on internet explorer.
press e to land on the edit box, and start typing nvda the screen reader.
Notice how nvda will say the following, where each utterance is followed by a verticle bar (|)
"n | n v | n v d | n v d a| n v d a t | n v d a th | ...)
I think this has to do with the way their autocomplete is working.

Confirmed. The reason is that this is a combo box, not a normal editable text field. In MSHTML, we seem to return an empty value for editable text, but not editable combo boxes.
