I only partially understood your comment, so I wasn't 100% sure how to edit the text. If I didn't get it right, would you let me know what it should say? Thank you! @larm-odoo I tried explaining Net-to-Gross vs. Gross-to-Net. Let me know if it is clear now, or if you need me to add more context.

One part that I forgot to add in my previous explanation is:
The way taxes are computed is based on the amount of gross pay the employee has received up to the payslip date.

Example: In January, my total income year to date is 10K. I compute the income tax based on that 10K — let’s say that my tax amount is X. In February, my year-to-date gross is 20K, and my tax amount based on that is Y. But since I already paid X last month, this month I only need to pay Y − X, and so on.

Doing this results in the lowest amount of tax being deducted in January, and the highest amount being deducted in December, which means:

In Net-to-Gross: fixed net, gross increases throughout the year.

In Gross-to-Net: fixed gross, net decreases throughout the year.
