@github-actions github-actions released this 31 Oct 11:37

v0.9.0

Netlog gets statistics over the sessions of a series, with a PDF and a CSV
export. Notfunk-Meldebuch no longer asks for MESZ or MEZ when a time falls
into the repeated hour of the autumn clock change, and its CSV now writes every
time as an absolute ISO 8601 value. The Notfunk manual has a presentation for
the introduction, and a new page title.

Netlog

  • Series statistics. On a series card in "Sessions & series" the new
Statistik / Statistics button opens, below the card, a summary and four
tables: the regulars (who took part in how many sessions of the series),
the attendance of each station per session, the sessions (length,
rounds with their durations, stations present, net control) and the net
    control rotation
. Per station it shows the time present, the check-in time
after the start of the session, the time as net control and the speaking
    time.
  • Speaking time is an estimate. A turn is recorded with its start only, so
its length is taken as the time until the next turn of the same round starts
(an upper bound, because it includes pauses). It is marked as an estimate
everywhere and is left out where the times are not exact.
  • Nothing invented. A value calculated from estimated times is marked
(≈, or "at least"); one that needs unknown times is left out, and the
number of sessions and turns left out is shown. Stations are matched across
sessions by their profile or their base callsign (OE/DL0QXA/P is
DL0QXA); a callsign with ? or * is not counted and is listed as
    excluded.
  • PDF and CSV. Both are downloaded with one button each in the statistics
panel. The PDF is a statistics sheet in the style of the roster PDF with the
leaderboard, the attendance matrix, the sessions and the net control
rotation. The CSV has one row per station and session (21 columns, ;,
times as ISO 8601 UTC, empty cells for unknown values, a quality column
exact | estimated | unknown). They are exports, not backups: they do not
    change the backup status.
  • Nothing changes in the stored data, so backups and sessions of earlier
versions work as before. The statistics are calculated from the records on
the device when the panel is opened, nothing is sent anywhere. They exist for
series only: a session without a series has no series card.

Notfunk-Meldebuch

  • No MESZ/MEZ choice. When the clocks go back in October, 02:00–02:59
happens twice. The form no longer asks which one is meant, and the zone name
is gone from the form, the logbook, the printouts and the help. If "now" is
itself in the repeated hour, the time you enter means the occurrence nearest
to now; otherwise it means the first one. A time ahead of now in that hour
can therefore be read as the other occurrence and then shows the existing
warning that the time lies in the future.
  • The missing hour in March is still rejected, with a message that says
    what to enter instead.
  • Stored times were always absolute (UTC instants), so no message changes:
messages and drafts of earlier versions show the same times, and old drafts
that still carry the zone choice are restored (the choice is dropped).
  • CSV: all times are absolute. In the Notfunk CSV the time cells now hold
ISO 8601 values with the offset from UTC, in the same columns as before:
"Uhrzeit" is 14:07:00+02:00 (it was 14:07), "Übergeben / übertragen
um", "Übernommen / Empfang bestätigt durch" (after the name) and "Erfasst"
are 2026-10-05T14:07:00+02:00 (they were wall-clock times). No column was
    added or moved. The column
"Zeitstempel (ISO 8601)" is as before.
  • Manual: the start page of the manual is called "Notfunk-Meldebuch" (it
was "Notfunk-Meldebuch: Anleitung"), also in the browser tab and on the
overview page. The start page has a new section Präsentation with the
introduction as PDF and as an HTML slide show you can page through in the
browser. The same slides are available as PowerPoint files, which are not
    linked: downloads/notfunk-einfuehrung/notfunk-einfuehrung.pptx (with the
font IBM Plex Sans) and notfunk-einfuehrung-basic.pptx (standard fonts).
  • Message path diagram: the stations are labelled by the direction through
the network: Lichtinsel "Eingang ↓", K-Vorsorgestandort "Weitergabe ↔",
    Funkstelle der ELS "Ausgang ↑".

Before updating

  • Nothing to do for users: stored data, backups and the format of the
    JSON backups are unchanged.
  • Anyone reading the Notfunk CSV with a program has to expect ISO 8601
values with an offset in the time cells named above.
  • Sites that render docs/ and rewrite the title of the Notfunk manual start
    page
(such as oe1ebg.at) must update: the heading in
    docs/notfunk-anleitung/index.de.md is now # Notfunk-Meldebuch. A staging
step that looks for the old heading # Notfunk-Meldebuch: Anleitung fails
(#160 is still open for the
    site side).
  • Servers with their own security headers: the bundle now contains
downloads/notfunk-einfuehrung/ (PDF, HTML, PowerPoint). The HTML slide show
has an inline script and style. deploy/nginx.conf.example and
deploy/htaccess.example give that directory (and only it) the inline policy
that the single-file bundles have, without any network host. Without that
rule the HTML slides show unstyled and do not page; the other files are not
affected. The slides ask for the font IBM Plex Sans from Google Fonts; that
host stays blocked, so a system font is shown there
    (#161). A saved copy opened
with internet access loads the font.

Limitations

  • The message format of the Notfunk-Meldebuch is still a draft and not agreed
with the Notfunkreferat Wien and the Meldesammelstelle.
  • In the Notfunk manual, "Eingang" and "Ausgang" mean two things: in the
message path diagram the direction through the network, in the table below
it and in the tool the view of each station (the Lichtinsel's message to the
Stab is an "Ausgang ↑" there).
  • The Netlog statistics are per series. A date range filter, merging stations
by hand and statistics across series are not included. Speaking time is an
    estimate.
  • The accessibility checks with axe-core in the new statistics tests run only
where axe-core is installed (not in CI), and a screen-reader check of the
statistics was not done. The limitations of v0.8.1 about screen readers,
forced colours and the dark theme still apply.
  • A test of the Confirm tool on a phone layout fails by a pixel or two
(#167); it is not caused by
    this release.

v0.8.2

@github-actions github-actions released this 22 Oct 22:24
v0.8.2

v0.8.2

A documentation release: the Notfunk manual is reorganised into
tutorial, manual and reference, and the English edition of v0.8.1 is
removed again; the manual is German only. The tools themselves behave exactly
as in v0.8.1.

Notfunk-Meldebuch manual

  • New structure: the pages are grouped in the directories tutorial/,
manual/ and reference/, and the start page lists them in these three
groups. The Sources moved from the start page to their own reference page.
  • File names: all pages have English names and the language suffix .de,
for example manual/message.de.md, so a site generator with language
suffixes (such as Zensical) can pick them up.
  • Message path diagram: "Der Weg einer Notmeldung" is redrawn with one
arrow above the stations for the message and one below for the reply, a
colour for each station, and an example message and reply on the arrows.
The text in the stations is shorter; the details are in the text below it.
  • Narrow screens: tables and links in the manual wrap instead of making
the page wider than the screen.
  • No English edition: the English introduction and tutorial of v0.8.1, and
their entry on the overview page, are gone.

Before updating

  • Nothing to do for users: stored data, backups and exports are unchanged,
and the tools' behaviour is unchanged.
  • Sites that render docs/ in their own theme (such as oe1ebg.at): the
Notfunk manual pages moved again. They are now
    docs/notfunk-anleitung/{tutorial,manual,reference}/<name>.de.md, with the
start page index.de.md. Pictures are linked as ../../img/… from the sub
    pages. english.md no longer exists.
  • The bundled manual stylesheet (tools/shared/css/docs.css) has new rules
for the diagram caption (centred) and for wrapping long words in tables and
links. A site with its own theme needs equivalent rules if it wants the same.
  • The address /tools/notfunk-anleitung/ (start page) stays, so the links in
the tool still work. The bundled pages below it have new addresses, for
    example /tools/notfunk-anleitung/manual/message/; the address
    /tools/notfunk-anleitung/english/ is gone.

Limitations

  • The message format of the Notfunk-Meldebuch is still a draft and not agreed
with the Notfunkreferat Wien and the Meldesammelstelle.
  • The limitations of v0.8.1 about screen readers, forced colours, the dark
theme and unopened sources still apply.
  • The tool still asks for MESZ or MEZ when a time falls into the repeated hour
    of the autumn clock change;
    #153 proposes to remove the
    choice.

v0.8.1

@github-actions github-actions released this 22 Oct 19:29

v0.8.1

A documentation release: the Notfunk manual is rebuilt from one very long
page into a guided manual for operators, with an introduction to how an
emergency message travels in Vienna, a tutorial, and annotated pictures of the
form. The tools themselves behave exactly as in v0.8.0.

Notfunk-Meldebuch manual

  • Structure: the manual is a start page with sub pages (introduction,
tutorial, preparation, operation, message, logbook, printout, backup,
notices, keyboard) instead of one long page. The address
/tools/notfunk-anleitung/ is unchanged, so the link in the tool and its
    help still works.
  • Introduction: how an emergency message travels from the Lichtinsel via
the K-Vorsorgestandort and the radio station in the Einsatzleitstelle to the
Meldesammelstelle of the Kriseneinsatzstab, and how the reply travels back,
as a diagram. Radio amateurs are messengers: their part ends at the handover
to the Meldesammelstelle, where they only note the reference. Reading back
is recommended, not mandatory; every transmitted message belongs in the
logbook. Based on the Richtlinie Notfunk Teil 2 – Wien of the Notfunkreferat.
  • Tutorial: one example from taking down the message at a Lichtinsel to
receiving the reply, with new screenshots.
  • Annotated forms: pictures of the form in the tool and of the empty paper
form with labelled fields, grouped by colour (and named in a legend).
  • Paper as a fallback: the manual explains how to be prepared for
paper-only operation, and the empty form can be downloaded as a PDF
    straight from the manual.
  • Offline preparation: installing the tool as an app is the recommended
way to run without internet, the single offline file for a USB stick the
second; opening the address in a browser while offline is not reliable.
  • Reference rewritten in plain language: implementation details such as
storage, limits and file formats were removed.
  • English edition of the introduction and tutorial, linked from the
    overview page.
  • Sources the manual relies on are listed as links.

All tools

  • The manuals of the standalone bundle now have a page font and colours
(they showed the browser defaults before).
  • The overview page lists the English edition of the Notfunk manual.
  • Stray files in the repository root (test leftovers) were removed.

Limitations

  • The message format of the Notfunk-Meldebuch is still a draft and not agreed
with the Notfunkreferat Wien and the Meldesammelstelle.
  • The new manual pages were not checked with a screen reader, in forced
colours or in the dark theme. The annotated pictures carry the explanation
in their alternative text and shrink on a narrow screen (a tap opens them
    at full size).
  • Some linked sources were not opened while writing (SKKM guideline, ÖBFV
E-31, the Lichtinsel articles, the W-KKG gazette); the Datenschutzgesetz
link goes to the RIS home page. The steps to install the app in the
different browsers are general guidance, not tried on every system.
  • The English edition has no full reference, and the diagram labels are
    German in both editions.
  • The tool still asks for MESZ or MEZ when a time falls into the repeated hour
of the autumn clock change; the manual leaves this out on purpose, and
    #153 proposes to remove the
    choice.

Before updating

  • Nothing to do: stored data, backups and exports are unchanged, and the
    tools' behaviour is unchanged.
  • Sites that render docs/ in their own theme (such as oe1ebg.at): the Notfunk
manual is now the directory docs/notfunk-anleitung/ (index.md and sub
pages, links relative to each source file, pictures as ../img/…), the
release stages the empty form as downloads/notfunk-vordruck.pdf, and
docs/static/ has one more committed picture. The URL
    ../notfunk-anleitung/ stays.

Technical details

  • Notfunk manual rework:
    #152; see the
    README ("Embedding
    in a site") and the
    Notfunk README.
  • Open follow-up: #153 (time
zone choice in the repeated hour).

v0.8.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 21 Oct 22:32

v0.8.0

This release is mostly about Netlog: a live view that stays in navigation
mode and is driven from the keyboard, a clearer layout, a roster report with a
timeline of who was on the air when (as a PDF and on the page), and a
Continuous Log as PDF. All tools can now share your own callsign lists,
including QSOs imported from a Wavelog logbook, and the previews of the tools
in chat apps show a card.

Netlog

  • Navigation mode: opening a station leaves the keyboard in navigation
mode; i or n enters the note field, and typing a note puts that station
on air. . and , move through the stations (. on the station on air
hands over, and after the last station starts the next round), a / p
/ l set active, paused or monitoring, j / k visit every station.
  • Writing notes: Enter saves, Shift+Enter is a line break, Ctrl/⌘+Enter
saves and hands over, Ctrl/⌘+Shift+Enter saves a question. The buttons show
their key symbols. Ctrl/⌘+Enter also hands over on My Turn.
  • Stations that are paused, monitoring or gone are set back in the list
and skipped; a "Return" button puts them back, and their note field stays
disabled until they are active. A status changed again within ten seconds
replaces the last change (an accidental active → paused → active leaves
nothing in the log); ⌘Z brings the replaced one back.
  • Speaking order: round-robin follows the list and wraps; with a repeater,
round-robin is the default. The green "Start round N · next: …" button is
on the net control's page. The usual net control of a series becomes net
control by itself when it checks in and nobody holds it yet.
  • My Turn: the open responses and your own talking points first, the
newest on top; answered ones fold into a compact "Answered" list with a
Reopen button each; the notes of the current and the previous round follow.
  • Layout: the participant list is one column on the left in every view,
the tabs sit on the main view, Live Notes and My Turn are one "Notes" tab,
undo and redo are at the very top. The header is one row: offline
readiness, storage and backup are one status chip with a panel for the
details and the backup download. The sessions screen is a place you leave,
    without the workspace bar.
  • Net Control: the station list matches the participant list, with an add
line (status, me, NCS) and Return buttons. Close the net checks every
station out and logs "net closed" with the time; one undo step.
  • Continuous Log: expand or collapse all rounds, and a PDF (the notes
of one station in one block with its speaking time, marked responses and
    after-net tasks).
  • Roster report: "Roster and facts (PDF)" and a collapsed card in Net
Control show the net's facts, the roster with in, out and duration (hh:mm),
[NCS] and [me] tags (a former net control in grey), the handovers, and
presence over time: a row per station, solid green when active,
hatched blue when monitoring, hatched amber when paused, a gap while
checked out, a magenta strip while net control, a tick per note. The states
differ by pattern, not only by colour.
  • "Backup and data" is regrouped with clearer contrast and buttons; station
    profiles are collapsed.
  • The Netlog README now documents the keys, tabs, Net Control and the PDFs.

Callsign lists and Wavelog import

  • Your own callsign lists sit next to the Austrian list in one shared
dialog ("Rufzeichenlisten"): import Ham2K PoLo callsign notes or a CSV,
put the lists in the order of the lookup, switch them off, test a search.
A name, place or locator is taken from the first list that has one.
  • Wavelog import (new page, online only): enter your Wavelog address and
an API token and import the QSOs of a logbook; the page summarises them per
callsign (name, place, grid of the latest QSO, number of QSOs) as one more
list. Read-only, the token is not stored.
  • Confirm, Notfunk and Netlog use the same lookup. Confirm's callsign
field uses the shared search and warns about an unknown callsign against the
official list only; Notfunk's "Stationsrufzeichen" of an operation has the
    callsign search too.

All tools

  • Link previews: each tool has a preview card for links in chat apps.
  • PDFs: the Netlog PDFs and Confirm's and Notfunk's log and form PDFs
show the address of the tool in the footer when served from a web address.
  • Manual screenshots are made by the build, so they match the tools.

Limitations

  • The callsign lists, including the Wavelog summary, are not part of any
    backup.
  • The Wavelog import was tested against a simulated instance only, not yet
against a real Wavelog; it needs an https address (or localhost).
  • In Netlog, a round's number and topic can no longer be edited and an
earlier round cannot be made current in the app. The data is unchanged.
  • The new Netlog views were checked with automated browser tests (Chromium,
Firefox, WebKit, phone) and axe-core, not yet with a screen reader or with
forced colours. The PDFs were checked in one PDF renderer.
  • Netlog's help is in the app and in the README; a separate manual is still
    open (#88).

Before updating

  • Export important logs and verify that the backup files arrived before
    updating, as for every release.
  • For USB or file:// use, replace downloaded single-file copies with this
    release's copies.
  • Stored data and exports are unchanged. The new callsign database
(oe1ebg-callsigns) is created on first use and stays on that browser.
  • Server operators: the header configuration changed since v0.7.0. The new
wavelog-import/ location needs its own policy (any https host and
localhost in connect-src, nothing else widened); copy it from
deploy/nginx.conf.example or deploy/htaccess.example. Everything else is
    unchanged.

v0.7.0

This release makes Confirm and Notfunk easier to use on air and on
paper. Both get compact lists that show more at a glance, forms that ask for
less, and printouts written as PDF files that print the same in every
browser, including empty forms to print before an exercise. Notfunk gains an
offline map of its messages, the location search from Confirm, and a step
dialog for handing messages over. All tools share one header with help in the
same place and the same words for the same actions; the ADIF editor and the
SOTA Alerts Map can be switched between German and English.

Notfunk-Meldebuch

  • Compact book: one row per message with the number, time and
reference (including "↪" the message a reply answers), the other party
with ↓ (incoming) or ↑ (outgoing), the message type as a label, Dringend
or Notfall in colour, the subject with two lines of text, and the status
with its time and operator. The column names stay in view while scrolling
on wide screens; on phones every message is a card.
  • Handing messages over: the step button in a row ("übergeben",
"Übernahme bestätigt", "übertragen", "Empfang bestätigt") opens a small
dialog: to whom or by whom (names used in this operation are suggested),
the time (empty = now) and, at the takeover of an incoming message, the
Meldesammelstelle's reference. Enter records the step.
  • One message: the type, direction and time on top, the reference under
the subject, "Von → An" as on the paper form, the text, then small blocks
for transmission, place, origin and remarks. A message with a place shows
it on a small offline map; "Im Meldebuch zeigen" opens the book's map
    at that message.
  • Map ("Karte"): the messages of the current list at their place on the
offline map of Vienna, coloured by urgency, with the own station as a star.
  • Location search ("📍 Standort"): the offline search from Confirm
(address, place, postcode, coordinates, locator, UTMREF), now in Notfunk's
    header too.
  • Operation panel: Esc in a field puts its value back; "Rückgängig"
restores the panel as it was opened. An empty relay field says "direkt".
  • Printouts as PDF: the message form (filled in, with all operation
details; a long text continues on further pages), the book for a time
range (A4 landscape, the full text of every message, Notfall and Dringend
also framed for black-and-white printers) and the empty form for
writing by hand (each choice a box to cross, writing lines at least 10 mm
    apart).
  • Fixed: a place that could not be resolved was lost on saving although
the field said it would be kept as text. It is now kept and shown as
    typed.

Bestätigungsverkehr (Confirm)

  • Entry form for use on air: the time field shows the running time with
its zone; Name before RST; RST as two narrow fields "geg" / "erh" (type
"57/59" straight through); the relay field holds the operation's relay and
an empty field means "direkt" (no more "über" box); callsign fields as
    wide as a callsign.
  • "Betrieb" panel (was "Vorgaben"): its closed line shows everything in
it; Esc puts a field back; "Rückgängig" restores the panel as opened.
  • Compact log: columns Nr, Zeit, Rufzeichen, Name, RST, Standort,
Relais, Notiz, each as wide as it needs; a relay that differs from the
operation is framed. The line being edited is marked ✎. On phones every
    line is a card.
  • Printouts as PDF: "Drucken" writes the whole log (A4 landscape, oldest
first, the operation details on every page); "Leerformular" gives an empty
sheet to fill in by hand.

Netlog

  • Local times are named as people say them: "MESZ" / "MEZ" in German,
"CEST" / "CET" in English, instead of "UTC+2".
  • On phones, "+ Check in" stays above the callsign suggestions.
  • Callsign fields are as wide as a callsign.

ADIF editor and SOTA Alerts Map

  • German and English: a DE/EN switch in the header, everything
translated, including the validator's messages. The start language follows
    the browser until you choose.
  • ADIF: the core fields (call, date, time, band, frequency, mode, RST,
name, QTH, locator) come first in the table; "file order" shows the file's
order. Exports keep the file's order as before.

All tools

  • One header: the way back, the title and the manual on the left, status
in the middle, clock, language, theme and "? Hilfe" / "? Help" always on
the right. On phones the header takes fewer lines.
  • The same words for the same actions in every tool (Sichern,
    Wiederherstellen, Exportieren, Löschen …).
  • Updates: a waiting new version is offered in a bar at the top, "Jetzt
verwenden" / "Später"; "Später" keeps a button in the header.
  • Version: the footer shows the release version next to the commit.
  • Location search: a few well-known names (such as "Floridsdorfer
Spitz") now find the place in Vienna, not a place of the same name
    elsewhere.

Limitations

  • Notfunk's message format is still provisional and not yet agreed with the
Notfunkreferat Wien and the Krisenstab; fields and wording can change.
  • The maps cover Vienna only.
  • Netlog's help is in the app only; there is no separate manual yet
    (#88).
  • The new step dialog and message view were checked with automated browser
tests on desktop and phone, not yet with a screen reader, at 200 % zoom or
    with forced colours.

Before updating

  • Export important logs and verify that the backup files arrived before
    updating, as for every release.
  • For USB or file:// use, replace downloaded single-file copies with this
    release's copies.
  • Printouts now open as a PDF in a new tab (or download where the browser
blocks the tab). Print from the PDF viewer at actual size (100 %).
  • Stored data and exports are unchanged; Confirm's CSV and ADIF keep their
    columns. A Notfunk message with an unresolved place now stores that text;
older versions do not show it.
  • Server operators: the header configuration is unchanged since v0.5.0.

v0.6.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 17 Oct 20:42

v0.6.0

This release gives Netlog a memory across nets: each station's history
from earlier sessions, open follow-ups you can close or carry into today's
net, and search by series and station. Series can be folded, summarised and
backed up on their own, and My Turn shows the current and previous round
together. All tools are easier to read and use with a keyboard, screen reader
or phone after an accessibility review, and a rare stalled update in Chrome
is fixed. Fictional example backups let you try Netlog, Confirm and Notfunk
with realistic data.

Netlog

  • Station history: a "Verlauf" / "History" panel under the station in
Live Notes lists the station's earlier sessions on this device, newest
first, across series and ad-hoc nets: date, net, the name and call as
recorded then, and the notes with round, topic and reply state. Every entry
opens the exact note in its session; b / Back returns with your draft
    kept.
  • Matching stations: the same station profile or the same full callsign
(OE0QXA = OE0QXA/P) counts automatically. Partial calls such as
OE0QX? or a matching name only appear as "possibly the same station".
You decide "Same station" or "Not the same"; both can be undone, and the
    recorded entries are never rewritten.
  • Open follow-ups from earlier sessions: open on-air replies and
after-net tasks come first in the history. Mark one done where it is,
or carry it forward as a task or into My Turn. A carried item shows
    where it came from ("↪ from 2026-10-02 · Wiener Runde #1 · OE0QXA") and
links back; the original is closed. Nothing from an earlier session enters
My Turn without that click. One undo takes both steps back.
  • Search (/): filter by series, or sessions without a series; search
only the selected station, across all its sessions; round topics are
searchable and open in Net Control.
  • Series: series cards fold open and closed, and the device remembers
which are open. Each card has a summary, for example "4 sessions ·
    2026-06-03 – 2026-06-24 · ⌀ 7 stations · 12 different stations · 89 notes ·
    8 open".
  • Back up and restore one series: "Back up" on a series card downloads
that series with all its sessions in one JSON file. "Restore…" on the same
card accepts only a backup of that series; it checks the file first and
skips sessions that are already there.
  • My Turn with both rounds: the round notes now show the current and the
previous round together, grouped by station, each note tagged with its
round (R4, R3). The Current/Previous switch and the p key are gone.
  • Printed report: notes and replies appear only when "with notes and
replies" is ticked; it is off by default. The export hint says which files
    contain notes.
  • Layout: the station heading in Live Notes takes two lines instead of
five. Click a session's date and title to open it; ↑/↓ for the speaking
order sit right under the station list. On phones, history entries use the
    full width.

All tools: accessibility

After a review of all tools (WCAG 2.2 AA, automated checks with axe-core in
light, dark and phone views), the automated checks report no violations in
any view.

  • Contrast: the blue of buttons and active toggles is slightly darker,
and muted text in dark mode, warnings and the ADIF hint are easier to read.
    App icons keep their colour.
  • Screen readers: suggestion lists (callsigns, places) are announced as
lists with options; button names start with their visible text, for
    example Confirm's "Bearb.".
  • Targets and small screens: header toggles, help and back links, ADIF's
"×" buttons and the ADIF/SOTA calendar buttons are at least 24×24 px.
Every view fits a 320 px wide screen without scrolling sideways, including
ADIF with a loaded log and Confirm's storage notice.

All offline tools: updates

  • An update could stall in Chrome and Edge: after "Update" or "Erneut
versuchen" the new version sometimes did not take over, and the page just
stayed. Your input was saved, but the update only happened on a later
reload. The page now reloads by itself after a few seconds and loads the
    new version.

Example data

  • examples/backups/
contains fictional backups to import into Netlog (3 series, 12 sessions),
Confirm (4 logs) and Notfunk (a logistics exercise with 30 messages), each
also as a small example. The README there explains what to try. They are
in the repository only, not in the release bundle.

Limitations

  • Netlog's history covers sessions on this device only. Nothing is looked up
or shared; to see another device's sessions, restore its backup.
  • Netlog's help is in the app only; there is no separate manual yet
    (#88).
  • Open from the accessibility review
    (#108): tables on phones in
Confirm and Notfunk, Confirm's header on phones, the ADIF column order, and
tests at 200 % zoom, with forced colours and with a screen reader.

Before updating

  • Export important logs and verify that the backup files arrived before
    updating, as for every release.
  • For USB or file:// use, replace downloaded single-file copies with this
    release's copies.
  • A Netlog series backup can be restored by v0.5.0 too, as an ordinary
    backup.
  • Server operators: the header configuration is unchanged since v0.5.0.

Technical details

The linked PRs explain the implementation and verification:

  • Netlog station history (#90),
    stacked: #98 history panel and
    matching, #99 open follow-ups
    and carrying forward, #100
search filters and the report choice; see the
    Netlog README.
  • Netlog layout and series: #102
    station heading, #104
    collapsible series and series backups,
#105 My Turn with both rounds,
    session rows, ↑/↓.
  • Accessibility (#108):
    #107 guidelines,
    #109 shared fixes and the
    repeatable just a11y-survey,
    #110 per-tool fixes.
  • Example backups: #103, browser
tests and CI coverage in #106.
  • Stalled update in Chromium (#97):
    #112.
  • Manual screenshots regenerated for the new colours, with the release
    notes.

v0.5.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 17 Oct 09:38

v0.5.0

This release adds Netlog, a new tool for amateur radio nets: notes per
station, on-air reminders for your own turn, net control, rounds, search and
backups. It runs offline in German and English, like the other tools. The
local time choice in Confirm and SOTA Alerts now names your time zone, and a
failed update check stays visible in every offline tool.

Netlog (new)

  • Sessions and series: start a net right away (ad hoc), or as a numbered
session of a series with its usual repeater and net control. An ad-hoc
session can be put into a series later. Join a net that is already running
    in any round.
  • Stations: check in with callsign and name. Partial callsigns such as
OE0QX? are fine and can be resolved later. Name and QTH come from the
offline Austrian callsign list. Status: active, paused, monitoring ("im
Hintergrund"), unconfirmed, checked out. Checked-out stations are struck
    through and skipped by j/k.
  • Live notes: short notes per station and round. Enter saves at once.
Unfinished text survives reloads, updates and language switches.
  • My Turn: what you wanted to answer or mention, open replies from earlier
rounds first, then the notes of the current or previous round. Your own
station opens My Turn instead of notes about yourself.
  • Speaking order: central control / Sternverkehr (every station gives back
to the net control, which calls the next), round-robin / Reihum (stations
pass on in turn) and free-form / Freie Runde (spontaneous, no fixed order,
no net control needed), shown as a small picture and in the station list.
The panel above the list shows who is speaking now and who is next; a
    banner says when it is your turn. ▶ Next or . moves the net on;
"Start round N+1" appears when everyone has spoken. Selecting a station
with j/k or a click only opens it; it never records a turn.
  • Net Control: order, status, net control handovers with corrected
times, removed stations, rounds and their topics.
  • Continuous log, search, undo: every note in time order. Search across
all sessions on the device. Undo and redo for every change, kept across
    reloads.
  • Export: stations and notes as CSV, check-ins as ADIF 3.1.7 (one QSO per
station, with the session's repeater, frequency and mode), and a printable
session report. The ADIF export lists anything it leaves out before you
    download.
  • Repeater, frequency, mode: separate fields for a series and a session.
A direct net needs no repeater; the frequency can also be just a band, such
    as "2m" for a 2m SSB net.
  • Backup: one JSON file for everything or one session. Restoring checks
the file first and changes nothing if it is invalid.
  • Offline: works offline once loaded from the server. There is also a
single file, netlog-offline.html (about 1 MB), for a USB stick or a laptop
    without a server.
  • Time: times in UTC or local time; the switch next to the clock names
    your time zone, e.g. "Europe/Vienna (UTC+2)".

Confirmation log and SOTA Alerts Map

  • The local time choice names your time zone and its offset, for example
"Europe/Vienna (UTC+2)", instead of only "local".

All offline tools

  • A failed check for updates stays visible. Before, a slower earlier check
could clear the "Update-Prüfung fehlgeschlagen" note again.

Limitations

  • Netlog is for one person on one device. Sharing a net between stations,
remote check-ins and online lookups are planned separately (see
    #68 for the follow-up issues).
  • Netlog's help is in the app only; there is no separate manual yet
    (#88).
  • The browser keeps the Netlog offline file's data separately from the
installed Netlog. Use a backup to move sessions between the two.
  • Netlog's ADIF export contains check-ins only, never notes. Logbook programs
need a mode: set it under "This session" in Net Control.

Before updating

  • Export important logs and verify that the backup files arrived before
    updating, as for every release.
  • For USB or file:// use, replace downloaded single-file copies with this
release's copies. Netlog's offline file is new.
  • Server operators: the supplied header configuration has changed. It adds
Netlog's inline load-failure script (by hash) and the inline policy for
    netlog-offline.html. Follow the
    deployment instructions
and update your copy of deploy/nginx.conf.example or
    deploy/htaccess.example.

v0.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 05:33

v0.4.0

This release brings the ADIF editor to ADIF 3.1.8 and adds ADX files, log
statistics, dropdowns for enumerated fields, and ISO date and time cells. All
tools now show dates as YYYY-MM-DD and times in 24-hour form, independent of
the browser language. Offline updates in Confirm and Notfunk are more reliable.

ADIF editor

  • Follows ADIF 3.1.8, including the new MFSK submode JTTY, four SKCC contest IDs and
updated region information. Exports declare version 3.1.8.
  • Opens, edits and exports ADX (XML) files as well as ADI. Converting between
the two formats asks for a decision wherever information would change or be
lost, for example international characters in an ADI export; the loaded log
    itself stays unchanged.
  • A short log overview and expandable statistics for the whole log or the
shown QSOs: callsigns, dates, bands, modes, DXCC entities, and how complete
    each field is.
  • Fields with a fixed list of values (BAND, MODE, DXCC, QSL status, and
others) are dropdowns. CONTEST_ID and SUBMODE suggest values while you type
and still accept others. Existing values outside the list are kept and marked.
  • Dates are shown and entered as 2026-09-01 and times as 12:00 or
    12:00:30; files still store ADIF's 20260901 and 1200. A calendar button
helps pick dates. Viewing or tabbing through a log changes nothing.
  • The date filter takes ISO dates instead of the browser's local date format.
  • new starts an empty log and clear… empties the editor.
  • The controls above the table fold away while the table is scrolled, leaving
more room for QSOs, especially on phones.

Confirmation log and Notfunk

  • No more false “Update verfügbar” on the first visit in Safari.
  • An Update click is no longer lost when an even newer version finishes
    installing at the same moment.
  • The page header no longer jumps while offline use is being set up; the setup
    message now reads “offline: lädt…”.
  • Splitting a large backup into parts is faster.

SOTA Alerts Map

  • Alert times and the date range use ISO dates and 24-hour times in every
browser language. The date range has ISO fields with a calendar button.

Before updating

  • Export important logs and verify that the backup files arrived before
    updating, as for every release.
  • ADIF editor: exports now declare ADIF 3.1.8. If another program needs the
3.1.7 header, check it before relying on new exports.
  • For USB or file:// use, replace downloaded single-file copies with this
    release's copies.
  • Server operators: follow the deployment instructions
and review the supplied header configuration when updating.

v0.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 12 Oct 05:36

v0.3.0

This release improves saving, backup restoration, and updates in the offline
tools. Larger logs are more responsive, the ADIF editor shows progress during
import, and the Notfunk form is easier to use.

Confirmation log and Notfunk

  • More responsive editing and work with larger logs.
  • Improved handling of interrupted saves, browser-storage problems, and
    conflicting edits in another tab.
  • Safer backup restoration, with clearer explanations when records cannot be
    restored. Restoring Notfunk backups protects newer changes and message numbers;
importing Confirm backups copies colliding logs instead of overwriting them.
  • Large backups can be downloaded in several parts and restored together,
including long texts and revision history, within the supported limits.
  • Clearer notices distinguish saved entries, drafts, and backup downloads.
  • CSV exports better protect against spreadsheet programs interpreting text
    as formulas.

Notfunk-Meldebuch

  • A simpler entry form and print layout, with the station callsign in operation
    details.
  • Improved local date/time entry, daylight-saving handling, and restoration of
    manually entered times.
  • Open a message directly by clicking its row in the message book.
  • The tool remains a draft: its format is provisional until confirmed by the
    Notfunkreferat Wien.

ADIF editor

  • File imports show progress and can be cancelled.
  • Validation stays more responsive while working with larger files.
  • Improved handling of field lengths, international characters, custom fields,
and malformed files. Very large inputs are refused with an explanation rather
    than being loaded without bounds.

Offline tools and SOTA Alerts Map

  • More resilient offline installation and updates, including clearer notices
when an update must wait for work to be saved.
  • Confirm and Notfunk can be installed as distinct apps.
  • SOTA refreshes and searches handle slow or failed requests more reliably.
Failed refreshes retain the last-known alerts, marked as stale.
  • Summit lookup and shared links have safeguards to avoid excessive live requests.

Before updating

  • Export important logs and verify that the backup files arrived before updating.
A message saying a download started does not confirm that a backup was retained.
  • For a split backup, keep all parts and select them together when restoring
in the updated version of the same tool. Older versions cannot safely restore
    backups containing text chunks. Browsers may block multiple automatic downloads;
