I think that we have established that nothing in the Open MPI code base is using this code. My $0.02 is that we should remove this therefore-stale code. If mpi-forum/mpi-issues#530 ever makes it into an MPI standard (which will take a year or two), we can bring this code back. |

We planned to remove support for all the MPI_Op with 3 buffer arguments, but this feature might be useful for the MPI extension described in mpi-forum/mpi-issues#530.
