How to import the openCV face class through Python-for-Android

I asked on reddit about whether it was possible to import the face class by changing the opencv recipe and I was told it should be relatively straightforward. However, I've tried multiple times and keep getting the following error message on the android log: "Attribute Error: module 'cv2' has no attribute face". I understand that the face class is now packaged under opencv-contrib, but this adds extra confusion about its viability. I would greatly appreciate if someone would give some kind of hint of how I would import it.
