Apps installed via Github Store are stored locally, and the app can now detect when an update is available so you can update them directly from Github Store. - On desktop, downloaded installers are now saved to your system Downloads folder instead of an internal temp directory.

Browse and install apps without logging in, using the lower anonymous rate limit, or sign in with GitHub for a much higher limit and smoother experience. Rate limit state is now tracked globally so the app can show a clear dialog when you hit the limit and tell you when it resets. -

The login flow now always requests only the repo scope, reducing the permissions you grant while still allowing the app to fetch releases and installers. -
