Re "The Open Modeling Foundation is comprised of organizations, individual modeling scientists, and students preparing for careers in modeling science." I think the rule is that "the whole comprises the parts, and the parts compose the whole."

Suggested change: "...Foundation comprises organizations..."

Alternative: "...Foundation is composed of organizations..."
