Patch release on the Miden 0.17 line, covering everything since v0.18.1. It publishes the server image (ghcr.io/openzeppelin/guardian:v0.18.2), the Rust crates and the npm packages (dist-tag latest). Accounts and stored data carry over from v0.18.1: no reset, no database migration.

⚠️ SDK upgrade notes

  • Deploy the 0.18.2 server before any client sends cedar or mainnet. Servers before 0.18.2 reject those labels with unsupported Miden network_type. Devnet, testnet and local setups are unchanged.
  • Miden pins unchanged. miden-protocol / miden-standards 0.17.1, miden-client 0.17.3, @miden-sdk/miden-sdk 0.17.3. The auth_tx procedure root is unchanged, so accounts and client stores carry over.
  • /pubkey without scheme returns the Falcon key, whichever schemes the server admits. This is not new behavior, but it is now documented: pass the scheme of the account the commitment is for (getPubkey(signer.scheme) / get_pubkey(Some("ecdsa"))).
  • Install pins. npm install @openzeppelin/miden-multisig-client@0.18.2 @miden-sdk/miden-sdk@0.17.3. Rust: miden-multisig-client = "=0.18.2" with miden-client = "=0.17.3".

Highlights

  • Miden Cedar and mainnet support (#552). GUARDIAN_NETWORK_TYPE accepts MidenCedar and MidenMainnet, and a Miden network_type accepts cedar and mainnet; /status and session grants report the label. Rust: MidenCedar::endpoint() makes MultisigClientBuilder wire the Cedar prover and note transport, and Endpoint::mainnet() now wires the mainnet ones. Encode Cedar addresses with MidenCedar::network_id() (prefix mm, the same string as mainnet); miden-client's own network_id() returns the generic mcst for Cedar. TypeScript: @miden-sdk/miden-sdk 0.17.3 has no Cedar or mainnet preset, so pass the RPC, prover and note transport URLs to MidenClient.create (see the package README).
  • Dependency updates: rustls 0.23.45 (#547), source-map-js (#546, #548).

Guardian operations

Optional: deploy the v0.18.2 image. It is required only for a server on Cedar or mainnet (GUARDIAN_NETWORK_TYPE=MidenCedar / MidenMainnet; the default RPC endpoints are https://rpc.cedar.miden.io and https://rpc.mainnet.miden.io). There is no database migration and no new required setting. No hosted Cedar or mainnet Guardian is provided.
