Dear QC + creative practice community,
My name is Nicolò and I'm just getting started with this topic, meanwhile I work on this, I would like to share a (weird) call for artists that we are launching, here is a description:
Have you ever had a performance go completely wrong?
An instrument that broke, caught fire, stayed silent.
A setup that betrayed you.
A moment that failed on stage.
If that sounds familiar, we want to hear your story.
We are an international group of artists and researchers working in multimedia arts, experimental music, and instrument building, based at HKUST (GZ).
Our current project explores failed performances with idiosyncratic setups, such as self-built instruments, new interfaces, and bespoke musical contraptions, under the working title No-Gos, Interruptions, Malfunctions and Errors.
We are collecting stories of performances that failed, misbehaved, broke, or never happened. Human experience comes first, but technical, organizational, non-human, and even supernatural factors are welcome.
To participate, please send:
Deadline: February 25
Send to: noinmaer@proton.me
The final project will take the form of a printed zine and a PDF, distributed free of charge. Contributions are anonymous by default.
We look forward to reading your tragic stories about working quantum + creative projects.
The No-Gos, Incidents, Malfunctions and Errors Team
