Dear all @TMSMultiLab/meetings ,
At the May meeting, Roisin McMackin lead a really useful discussion on how we deal with safety, ethics, and adverse events. Thank you to everyone who contributed! All our past meetings are on the Wiki, and you can add details of any adverse events in your lab to the dedicated page.
This month's meeting will be lead by Dr Emir Yassi (see their profiles: LinkedIn GoogleScholar) who will present findings from a recent massive meta-analysis of repetitive TMS protocols. If you've not read their paper yet, it's a really important contribution to the ongoing debate. Does rTMS work? Come to the meeting to find out!

We'll start at 14:00 (British Summer Time; UTC+1) on Friday 26th June.
This month we are also piloting a new feature: Paper of the Month, at which a TMSMultiLab member presents a recent paper in about 5 minutes and in ~1-3 slides. For the inaugural paper, we have Louisa Gwynne presenting Conscious Tactile Perception Depends on Early Processing in Primary Somatosensory Cortex. This slot will be reserved for PhD students / ECRs, so please nominate yourself and your recently-published papers (or your supervisor/boss may do it for you...). We have four available slots left in 2026, the next one on July 31st.
FINALLY, if that wasn't enough already, there will be an Extraordinary Meeting for anyone who wants to discuss the Hackathon event that we are running online on 10th-12th August this summer. We will narrow-down the proposed topics, nominate people to lead those topics, look at the list of potential attendees so far, and organise the schedule for the event.
This meeting will start about 15:00.
AGENDA:
14:00 Emir Yassi
14:50 Louisa Gwynne
15:00 Hackathon discussion (Nick)
15:45 end
hope you're all having a lovely summer so far,
cheers,
Nick
