I do not think this is possible anymore. The support to allow installing plugins in $HOME has been removed intentionally with commit 216b2e3#r8610384. Maybe @jlindgren90 can still recall why. Probably due to security concerns and for less code complexity. |

Is there a way to install plugins for audacious inside of the $HOME directory? I've seen this and I'm not sure if it's the goal of the developers to not have a way for users to install plugins in their $HOME directory. Perhaps there's an environment variable that handles this of which I'm not aware?
