Pylon implementation in Bonsai 2.9!! Sort of urgent help needed.

Dear all,

maybe it is a very newbie question, but I can't manage to work with my newly acquired Basler cameras. Pyloncapture seems to work fine, but the visualizer just shows "Bonsai.pylon Pylon.data.frame.". If I used the videowriter node I get a "no method overload found..." warning-

What I would like is to simply record time-stamped frames from the Basler cameras after a keystroke, and synchronize with an arduino-based trigger. But most of the discussion and help are for the 2.5 version of Bonsai.

Hi @claudioez-art!

You need to unpack the Pylon.DataFrame by right-clicking on the PylonCapture, that will open up the context menu, where you can select Output -> Image. You can do the same for the other object in the DataFrame, GrabResult, which should contain the values you need (Timestamp and either ImageNumber or ID).

The previous discussion topics on this package should still be relevant, as there haven't been any recent changes to the package. Let me know if you still need more help!

thanks a lot for your help! I thought that would be the case, I only get an "Image.OpenCV.Net.IplImage", which can be further expanded into several output elements, none of those producing an image. I assumed the correct one was the imagedata (SystemInt.Ptr) but that seems only to be a single value, at least in the visualizers.

Hi @claudioez-art just click on the Image (OpenCV.Net.IplImage) menu option; you don't need to expand the selection further. To visualize the image, you might need the Bonsai.Vision.Design package if you haven't installed it.
