Is there a list of open organizations that I can join on GitHub?

I know that many company organizations on GitHub (like Google, Microsoft, etc.) are closed, but I’m interested in open communities/organizations that anyone can enter or contribute to.

Is there a curated list of GitHub organizations that welcome new members? Or any recommendations from your experience?

I don’t think there’s a single list of open orgs you can just browse. Most orgs are either tied to a specific project or community. What I usually do is check out GitHub Explore
or search repos with topics like open-source or community—that’s where you’ll often find orgs that are welcoming to contributors. Some examples are things like EddieHubCommunity
. It’s more about finding a community that fits what you’re interested in than joining from a master list.
