I have an outstanding discount request for my older username?

Hi everyone,

I'm applying for GitHub Education certification using my school email. I've added and verified the email address and submitted valid ID documentation. However, when I click the submit button, I receive the following error message: There was an error creating the discount request. Errors: Discount request could not be created. Discount request errors: You have an outstanding discount request for @Miaow233. We will get back to you soon.

I changed my GitHub username a long time ago (Miaow233 → MiaowFISH).

I tried searching for and closing the previous discount request but couldn't find any information.

How should I correctly apply for GitHub Education?

To solve this, I recommend you contact support by opening a ticket here, select "Other" and explain your problem.

It looks like GitHub Education is detecting that there’s already an outstanding discount request associated with your account (or possibly your school email). This is why you’re seeing the error:
“You have an outstanding discount request for @Miaow233. We will get back to you soon.”
The best way to resolve this is to wait for GitHub Education support to review your previous request. Since you’ve already submitted it, they will contact you once it’s processed.
If it’s been a long time (more than a week or two), you can follow up by replying to any confirmation email you received or by submitting a new support request mentioning your previous attempt. Be sure to include:
Your GitHub username
Your school email
A note that you are experiencing the “outstanding discount request” error
This helps support locate your previous request and speed up the process.
