Hey! 😊 When you first sign up, GitHub sometimes shows example repos or onboarding content to help you get familiar with the interface. It can look like “your” data, but it’s really just sample material. Once the onboarding flow ends, that stuff disappears .. so nothing was deleted, and you didn’t lose anything. If you see a repository in your account now, it’s either something you created yourself or something GitHub generated when you clicked “Create repository” during setup. It’s worth opening it and checking the files, commits, and README just to see what’s inside. So no worries your account is fine, and nothing important vanished. 👍 |

Issues are for tracking actual work like bugs or features that need to be done. Discussions are more like a forum where people ask questions, share ideas, or talk things through before deciding anything. (dev.to) So think of it as: issues are where work happens, discussions are where thinking happens first. |

Hi. New to GitHub. I made an account because I was landing here from time to time. When I made the account there was existing "data" available. However, the next day it was no longer there. I now have a repository I'm trying to understand, trying to see if there is data of value there. Any help or information is appreciated.
Thanks
JP
