hey my card doesn't support automatic billing for security, I had an active subscription, but after I needed to renew my subscription to continue using and billing, I couldn't bill myself, and my plan became a free version. Can you please return to my account so I can renew my subscription and continue using it?

also I paid for github pro and other things after that but the subscription wasn't enabled, can you please enable it for me because I didn't want to stop using it

Hey @ynki0,

Your problem is that your renewal failed, your account dropped to Free, and now you are stuck because GitHub paused new Pro sign-ups on April 20, 2026 .

This is happening to many people right now. The system treats your reactivation as a "new sign-up," which is blocked. Even worse, some billing forms are broken and show errors . The email support address is also bouncing for many users .

Here is what you can do

Try these quick things first:

1. Open an incognito/private window and go to https://github.com/settings/copilot
2. Clear your browser cookies for GitHub only
3. Sign out completely, then sign back in

If that does not work, contact GitHub Support directly:

Use this link: https://support.github.com/contact

Select "Billing" → "Copilot" → "Subscription & payments"

Tell them exactly this:

"My Copilot Pro renewal failed due to my card. I was an existing paying customer, not a new user. I have fixed my payment method, but I cannot renew because the new sign-up pause is blocking me. Please manually restore my Copilot Pro subscription."

Also mention that you are paying for GitHub Pro already.

Bottom line

You did nothing wrong. Only GitHub Support can fix this. The community cannot override subscription blocks . Open that ticket and be patient.
