Hi everyone,

My school is United Christian College, Hong Kong. And I am the Principal. I have applied for GitHub Education many times.

1. Unable to verify my academic affiliation. What does it mean?
2. I have updated the personal profile and captured my namecard for the details.
3. My email address was linked to another United Christian College (Kowloon East). How can I amend it?

I've been trying to get my documents accepted for a month. I tried EVERYTHING and still nothing works. They don't have ANY support for that and ignored my open ticket, so I believe GitHub is doing a very bad service with this Education Application, selling heaven but giving hell. And if you have a look around this forum, 90% will be about problems getting the documents accepted, especially for non-English documents.

“Unable to verify my academic affiliation” usually means GitHub Education could not confirm your connection with the institution automatically. This can happen if the school email domain is linked to another campus or institution in GitHub’s database.

Since your email address was previously associated with “United Christian College (Kowloon East),” you may need to contact GitHub Education Support and explain that you are affiliated with “United Christian College, Hong Kong” instead.

You can try the following:
• Make sure your GitHub profile name exactly matches your official documents
• Use your official school email address if available
• Upload clear proof of affiliation such as your staff ID, name card, or official letter/document from the school
• Mention the issue about the incorrect institution association in your support request

GitHub Support should be able to manually review and amend the institution mapping for your account.
