Hi everyone,

I am an online student in the OMSCS program at Georgia Tech, and I am having difficulty getting verified for the student offer. I tried taking a picture of a printed copy of my transcript, but it is not being accepted.

Since I am an online student and do not have a physical student ID from the Atlanta campus, I am not sure what other documentation I can provide. Could you please advise me on what documents are acceptable for verification?

As an online OMSCS student, the printed transcript isn't working because GitHub's system flagged several issues in your rejection. Fix all of these before reapplying:

1. Disable VPN & enable location access
   You must allow browser location access and not use a VPN. Since you're remote, your document must explicitly indicate virtual/online learning.
2. Document must show full school name
   "Georgia Institute of Technology" must appear as text in the document — not just a logo. If your transcript doesn't show it clearly, combine it with an enrollment verification letter.
3. Name must match exactly
   Your first and last name must be identical across: your document, GitHub profile, and GitHub billing info. No nicknames, no variations.
4. Best document for OMSCS students:
   Use an official enrollment verification letter from Georgia Tech (available via the Registrar or OMSCS student portal) — it typically shows your full name, school name, and confirms online enrollment, which directly addresses the "not near campus" flag.
5. Update your GitHub profile
   Add your full legal name to your GitHub profile, log out, then log back in before reapplying.
   If it still gets rejected after all this, contact GitHub Education support at https://support.github.com/contact and select "GitHub Education" — mention you're an online graduate student and request manual review.
