Problem in redeem my Copilot benefit for student

Hello everyone, last day I got verified as a student, but still I can't redeem my Copilot benefit. When I go to my verified application and I follow the second link (the one that tells me to redeem Copilot) I'm sent in the default page of copilot, my copilot offers still showing as the free version and there are link nor button to redeem my copilot for students. I also have followed the first link, to the page showing my Educational Docs in GitHub Education, and also here I have the link that remind me to "click here" to redeem my Copilot benefits, and this link is basically the same as before. I don't know what to do. Please help

Hey @Gab304 — congrats on getting verified! I had the same loop happen to me. A few things to try, in order:

1. The big one — that "Plan upgrades are temporarily unavailable" banner is the real blocker.
   Your verification went through, but the Copilot Pro upgrade flow is currently paused on GitHub's side (the yellow warning on your billing page is saying this directly). Until that lifts, the "Redeem" links will just bounce you back to the free plan page, which is exactly what you're describing. This isn't a bug with your account — it's a temporary platform-wide issue.
2. While you wait, do these so you're ready the moment upgrades re-open:

Sign out of GitHub completely, clear cookies for github.com and education.github.com, then sign back in. The verification flag sometimes doesn't propagate to your session until you do this.
Go directly to https://github.com/settings/copilot (don't use the link in the Education banner — go straight to the settings URL). Check what it shows there.
Then try https://github.com/education/benefits → click "Get access to Copilot." If you see the Pro upgrade screen with a $0 price, you're in. If you still see the free-plan page, the upgrade pause is still on.

3. If after 48 hours it still doesn't work:
   Open a support ticket at https://support.github.com/contact → category "Education" → include your username (Gab304), the screenshot you posted here, and mention "verified student, Copilot redemption flow returns to free plan page, Plan upgrades temporarily unavailable banner visible." GitHub Education support usually responds within 1–2 business days and can manually flip the entitlement.
4. One thing to double-check:
   Your verification screenshot says "Verified (benefits available) on May 24, 2026" — that's the Student Developer Pack verification. Copilot Pro for Students is a separate entitlement that piggybacks on it. Sometimes the Copilot piece takes another 24–72 hours after Pack verification, even when the Pack itself shows green.
