just throwing my comment in the mix that my $39 plan was completely used up in about 2 hours of normal use. I will not let my subscription renew if there isn't a change to this. i'll be finding another provider. i heard codex is good these days, may try that. i used claude previously and didn't hate it. also, i have never before posted on github community before today; never felt the need to, but this change was so bad i felt the need to come and speak out about it. github, microsoft, i hope this is seen and understood and rectified. i get they were trying to balance things, but they balanced things in the same way anakin skywalker brought balance to the force |

Same sentiment here. The new billing is way too aggressive. I burned 48% of my Copilot Pro monthly plan in one session of 2-3 hours, even with the caveman "hack". This is definitely not worth the price I'm paying. If kept as-is, I'm doubting I will keep this subscription. |

Эх, точно такая же проблема... Мой месячный лимит в 1500 токенов в рамках Github Pro (Student Pack) улетел ровно за 1 день пользования агентами |

Copilot in GitHub
Body
Plan: Copilot Pro ($10/month, 1,500 AI Credits)
Date: June 1, 2026 — first day of AI Credits billing
Model used: GPT-5.4 (Standard / "High")
What happened: I sent a single agentic prompt on a multi-service workspace in VS Code. The usage dashboard shows approximately 576 credits consumed — that is $5.76 out of my $10 monthly budget, from ONE prompt.
The math this produces:
At ~576 credits per deep agentic session:
This is not a pricing edge case. This is the standard workflow Copilot marketed in its agentic and workspace features.
The core issue:
GPT-5.4 in agent mode reads full codebase context on every turn. A multi-service workspace generates 100,000–400,000 input tokens per session at $2.50/M input + $15/M output. That is $3–$8 per session. The Pro plan contains $10 total.
GitHub sold agentic coding as a feature of Copilot Pro. You cannot run that feature for more than 1–2 sessions before the plan is empty.
What I'm asking GitHub to address:
I'm not asking for free compute. I'm asking for honesty: if Copilot Pro can only handle 2–3 agentic sessions per month on your flagship model, that needs to be communicated clearly on the pricing page — not discovered the hard way on day 1 of billing.
