When I attempt to claim the GitHub Copilot benefit from the Education portal, I am caught in a redirect loop that consistently returns me to the Copilot Free plan page. I am not receiving the Student entitlement, despite my verified status.
Troubleshooting already performed:
1. Cleared all cookies and cache for github.com and https://www.google.com/search?q=education.github.com.
2. Signed out and back into my GitHub account.
3. Attempted access via different browsers (Chrome, Safari, Incognito).
4. Confirmed that the "Plan upgrades are temporarily unavailable" banner is visible on my billing page, which may be blocking the automated provisioning of my student license.

From the FAQ:

10. I'm newly eligible for Copilot Student but have never activated it. Can I sign up now?
    At this time, new activations of Copilot Student, Pro, and Pro+ are paused.

Your GitHub Education verification is active and has not been removed. The pause affects the ability to activate Copilot Student or a Copilot paid plan. When signups resume, you will be able to activate the Education benefit if you are still eligible. In the meantime, Copilot Free remains available for signups.

We do not have an estimated timeframe to share yet for when the pause will end.
