Ever since GitHub Copilot introduced the new point/credit system on June 1st, my experience as a $39/month Pro+ subscriber has been an absolute nightmare.
Previously, this quota lasted me an entire month. Now? I used up the whole month's allowance in just ONE DAY. (See the screenshot below)
This is unimaginable. It honestly feels like a scam—a blatant robbery taking money straight out of my wallet.
I have a few questions for the community:
My billing cycle ends in the middle of the month. If I cancel my subscription right now, will GitHub give me a prorated refund?
Or, should I upgrade to their newly introduced "Pro Max" tier for $100/month? Will that actually be enough for heavy use? I heard it's 2.9x the capacity of the PRO plan, but it sounds like just another greedy, money-grabbing trap.
I'm caught in a serious dilemma. My app development is currently in a phase that requires high-intensity use of the Claude Opus 4.8 model. Unfortunately, we cannot get a Claude Code account.
Does anyone know any other methods, tools, or platforms where I can continue using this model for my development without being ripped off? Any advice or alternative solutions would be greatly appreciated.
