The billing page says I AM pro . But I cant fetch any pro services.

Hi there,

This is a known issue that usually happens when a paid subscription overrides your account's active billing status. When you upgraded to Copilot Pro, GitHub's system updated your primary subscription status to "Paid." Once that paid month expired, the system automatically downgraded your account to the standard "Free" tier, accidentally masking your active GitHub Education benefit.

Don't worry, your student/education eligibility hasn't been permanently deleted; the system just needs to re-verify your active token.

How to fix this:

1. Check your GitHub Global Education Status:
   Go to education.github.com/benefits and log in. Make sure your student/teacher status is still listed as approved and active.

2. Re-sync your Copilot Billing Tier:

   • Go to your GitHub settings on a desktop browser.
   • Navigate to Billing and plans -> Plans and usage.
   • Scroll down to the GitHub Copilot section. Sometimes, you will see a button or prompt to "Claim your free access" or "Re-verify student status."

3. Contact GitHub Support (If it doesn't automatically restore):
   If your subscription doesn't turn back into the Education tier within 24 hours of checking your benefits page, you will need to open a quick ticket with the billing team. Since billing handles subscription flags, they can manually re-trigger your student coupon code instantly. You can open a ticket at support.github.com.

Thank you for your suggestions.
I now fallback to choice 3 to create a ticket.
The problem now is that nearly a week of workday passed i havent got my ticket resolved.
I wonder if that is a normel time for github staffs to handle a ticket or my ticket has just been ignored.

i think its usually because it just automatically overrides the previous subscriptions, Happened to me once, would suggest you contacting support
