Hello GitHub Education Community,

I am writing to seek assistance regarding my application for the GitHub Global Campus Teacher Benefits. My application is consistently being rejected by the automated verification system, despite submitting a pristine, officially issued, and stamped document that meets all of GitHub's explicit criteria.

Community members cannot see or override the verification decision, but GitHub's teacher verification docs do list a few things that are worth checking before reapplying.

For teacher benefits, GitHub says the application needs:

• an educator / faculty / researcher status
• a verifiable school-issued email address
• documents proving current school affiliation
• a personal GitHub account

The rejection article is especially specific about the document image: it should clearly identify your current employment with the school/university. If the school email domain is unverified, or if the school has email policies where alumni/retired faculty can keep addresses, GitHub may require stronger proof, and the docs recommend reapplying with a different image that has at least one clearly visible date showing current academic status.

So I would try this checklist:

1. Use the institutional email address on the application, not a personal email.
2. Make sure the uploaded proof shows the same name as the application/account where possible.
3. Make sure the document shows current status, not just historic affiliation. A faculty ID or employment verification letter with a visible current date is usually better than a generic stamped document.
4. Avoid cropped/low-resolution photos; include the whole page/card if it helps show issuer, name, role, school, and date.
5. If you accidentally selected a student/status option instead of faculty, reapply as Faculty.
6. If the issue seems to be the school domain itself, ask your school IT/admin office to contact GitHub Education, because that is not something the community can correct from a discussion thread.
