Dear GitHub Support Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally appeal the suspension of my GitHub account, username [lxj2004], which was restricted on [04/2026]. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience my actions may have caused and take full responsibility for the situation.
The suspension was triggered by my improper configuration and use of the OpenClaw tool. I was experimenting with this open-source AI agent framework for personal learning purposes, but I failed to properly understand its security implications and how it interacts with GitHub's systems. I now realize that my configuration caused excessive API requests and unusual activity patterns that triggered your automated security systems.
I want to be absolutely clear: I had no intention of violating GitHub's Acceptable Use Policies or engaging in any malicious activity. I was simply a curious developer exploring new AI technologies and made a mistake in how I set up the tool.
Since receiving the suspension notice, I have taken the following immediate actions:
I have completely uninstalled OpenClaw from all my devices
I have revoked all personal access tokens and OAuth applications that were associated with this tool
I have thoroughly reviewed GitHub's Acceptable Use Policies and Security Guidelines to ensure I understand and will comply with them in the future
I have secured my account with additional security measures including two-factor authentication
This GitHub account is extremely important to me. I have been using it for [X years] for my university studies, personal projects, and contributions to the open-source community. Losing access to it would mean losing years of work, code repositories, and connections with other developers.
I sincerely promise that I will never again use any tools or scripts that could potentially violate GitHub's policies or cause harm to the platform. I have learned a valuable lesson about responsible tool usage and platform security.
I kindly request that you review my case and consider reinstating my account. I am more than willing to provide any additional information or documentation you may need to verify my identity or understand the situation better.
Thank you for your time, understanding, and consideration. I look forward to your positive response.
Best regards,
[Xingjian Lin]
