GitHub account suspended suddenly, unable to reset password or log in

This is the first time my account has been suddenly suspended, and I did not receive any email explaining the reason.

I created a support ticket on June 4: #4447615. I received a response saying:

“Your account was suspended out of an abundance of caution after suspicious activity was detected.”

However, I still do not know what suspicious activity was detected. The last thing I did, aside from my usual daily commit, push, and merge activity, was using my GitHub account with https://commandcode.ai/.

I am currently unable to regain access because:

I cannot reset my password. After completing the password reset process, I am redirected either to the GitHub main page or the login page.
I cannot log in using my correct account credentials.
I also cannot log in using my passkey.
I already have 2FA set up on the account.

This GitHub account is important for my work, and I need to recover access as soon as possible.

Could someone please help me understand what happened and guide me on how to restore access to my account?

If GitHub Support has already confirmed the suspension, only GitHub staff can restore the account.

Since you cannot reset your password, use your passkey, or complete login after the reset flow, this is likely not a credential issue but an account-level restriction.

I would recommend replying to ticket #4447615 and asking for clarification on:

• what activity triggered the suspension
• whether the suspension can be appealed
• what steps are required for account recovery

Unfortunately, the GitHub Community cannot access account records or remove suspensions. Only Support can review and restore the account.
