Good day.

I am currently renewing my educational qualifications. I have uploaded my certification document, but the application was rejected because the username does not match the name shown on the certificate. I have since updated my name in my public profile, yet the issue persists.
After reviewing the FAQs, I understand I may need to change my login username. Could you please confirm if this is a mandatory step?
For your reference, the name on my certificate is identical to the one linked to my educational email address. I am quite concerned that changing my login name may cause unexpected issues, particularly with my 2FA settings, which are tied to my current username. A similar problem happened before and caused me a great deal of trouble, so I hope to avoid running into the same issues again.

"We are able to translate a number of languages but if you feel that the system is unable to process your particular language then we would advise you to take a photo of the original piece of evidence next to a typed English translation, without using special characters / accent marks. Your name on the account may need to match the translated proof as well."

For GitHub Education verification, the name on your account must match the name shown on your certificate. Updating only the display name in your profile is not always enough — the system checks against your GitHub account username as well.
