Hi everyone,

Hello GitHub Education Team,

My GitHub Student Developer Pack has been approved, and my account is verified until May 2028. However, I am still unable to access GitHub Copilot Student benefits, and my account remains on Copilot Free.

I understand that new activations of Copilot Student and Copilot Pro are currently paused. Since I am an eligible and verified student, I would like to ask whether it is possible to enable Copilot Student access for my account or provide any alternative way to redeem this benefit while the pause is in effect.

GitHub Copilot is one of the main benefits I was hoping to use for learning, coursework, and software development projects. I would greatly appreciate any information about my eligibility, account status, or whether an exception can be made for verified students who already have active Education benefits.

At the moment, GitHub Copilot Student and Copilot Pro activations are paused. Even if your GitHub Student Developer Pack is approved and verified until 2028, your account will remain on Copilot Free until GitHub reopens new activations.

Key points:

1. You are already verified and eligible, but Copilot Student cannot be enabled right now due to the pause.
2. There is no exception process — all new activations are on hold globally.
3. You can continue using Copilot Free in the meantime.
4. GitHub has stated that updates will be shared once Copilot Student activations resume.

In short: your eligibility is valid, but Copilot Student access cannot be activated while the pause is in effect. Keep an eye on GitHub Education announcements for when the benefit becomes available again.
