Hi everyone,

Hello,

I am trying to apply for GitHub Education as a student, but the verification page only shows the live camera option. There is no file upload option.

I tried desktop Chrome/Edge, private window, and mobile browser, but the same camera-only page appears. When I use the camera, the document becomes blurry and unreadable.

Is there any official way to upload a clear image/PDF, or reset the verification flow?

This is a known issue with the GitHub Education verification flow. A few things that have worked for others:
Workarounds to try:

Use Firefox instead of Chrome/Edge — some users report the upload option appears there
Try on a different device entirely (a friend's laptop for example)
Clear all cookies and cache then revisit the verification page fresh
Try accessing the page via incognito + VPN — sometimes region affects the UI served

If nothing works:

Contact GitHub Support directly at support.github.com and mention "Education verification upload option missing"
Attach a screenshot showing only the camera option — they can manually process your verification

GitHub Support is generally responsive for Education issues since it's a free benefit they actively promote.
