Here is the exact step-by-step process to get it activated:

Step 1: Add your University Gmail to your GitHub Account
Log into your GitHub account.

Click your profile picture in the top right corner and go to Settings.

In the left sidebar, click on Emails.

In the "Add email address" box, type in your school Gmail address (e.g., fn22042@university.edu) and click Add.

Check your university Gmail inbox for a verification email from GitHub and click the link to confirm it.
