Verification Help & Guidance
Hi everyone,
I’m currently stuck in a frustrating verification loop with the GitHub Education AI scanner and could really use some advice from the community – or ideally, a hand from a GitHub staff member floating around here.
I work at the University of Erfurt in Germany as the system administrator for our Campus Management and Student Information System (HISinOne). I’m trying to apply from my actual workplace on campus, using a verified university email address and an official campus IP.
The automated system keeps rejecting me instantly. So far, I’ve tried uploading:
My official Staff ID card (our regional "Thoska" card).
My official Job Description (Dienstbeschreibung), which is a highly official German HR document.
The ironical part? My team leader held his exact same Staff ID card into his webcam and was approved within two minutes. Meanwhile, the AI scanner just automated-denies my application every single time.
Before anyone suggests pulling a standard certificate from our campus portal: Since I am the admin of our HISinOne system, I know firsthand that it only stores student data, not HR/staff records at our university. So I can't just generate a student-style enrollment PDF for myself. My staff ID and job description are the highest official proofs available.
Has anyone else from a German university faced this with staff accounts? And if a GitHub Global Campus Moderator reads this: Is there any way to escape this automated loop and get a quick manual eye on my documents? I already opened a support ticket but am waiting for a response.
Thanks a lot for any insights!
