Fable 5 is not yet active on Pro+ plan

I am on Pro+ Plan but I am still waiting for Fable 5. Reading through documentation only says that it has 30 days data retention policy so you need to enable it, but I do not find any place where I can do so. Some says to enable it from model selector but my Github Profile /copilot setting doesn't have that screen available as well. I am not sure as my interface do show Pro+ plan activated and it has Fable 5 in the plan. So I am not sure if something is wrong with my account or I am just not finding where to activate it.

Fable 5 has been suspended from GitHub Copilot as of June 12, 2026.
Following Anthropic's announcement, effective June 12, 2026, access to Claude Fable 5 has been suspended across all GitHub Copilot experiences. All other Claude models including Claude Opus 4.8, Sonnet 4.6, and Haiku 4.5 remain available and unaffected. So if you're not seeing it, that's why — it's been pulled for everyone, not just you.

Thanks, but I am still not sure why I cannot select models which seems to be part of Pro+ planto choose which model to enable or not.

Hi @archergod ,
The reason you aren't seeing a model selector on your GitHub profile settings is that the toggle isn't actually on the website at all. You select your models directly inside your code editor.

Here is how to find it:

Open up your editor (like VS Code) and open the Copilot Chat panel.

Look right at the top of the chat interface. You should see a small dropdown menu showing the currently active model (like Opus or Sonnet).

Click that to instantly swap between any of the models available on your Pro+ plan.

If you still don't see the dropdown in your editor, just double-check that your Copilot extension is updated to the absolute latest version. Hope this gets you up and running!
