I have been trying to connect my webhook from discord to github and i keep getting the same problem, https error 400.

Here is what i have done. At the end of the discord webhook i added /github and format to /json. I have tried multiple times but nothing works amy tips? I have looked at yt and all that nothing helps

you're on the right track with /github at the end and json format ,,, that's the correct setup.the 400 error usually means one of these things :

most common cause: content type header.
when setting up the webhook in github (repo settings->webhooks), make sure the Content type is set to application/json ,,, not application/x-www-form-urlencoded. discord's webhook endpoint expects JSON, so if github is sending the wrong content type,discord rejects it with a 400.

double check your webhook URL format .
it should look exactly like this,,, no extra spacess or characters :
https://discord.com/api/webhooks/WEBHOOK_ID/WEBHOOK_TOKEN/github

• make sure its /github at the very end ,,, not /github/ with a trailing slash(some discord endpoints are sensitive to this),
• usediscord.comnotdiscordapp.com(older URLs sometimes cause issues).

step by step to set it up correctly.

1. in discord, go to your channel-> Edit Channel -> Integrations ->Webhooks->copy the webhook URL.
2. add /github to the end of that URL.
3. go to your github repo -> Settings-> Webhooks ->Add webhook.
4. paste the full URL (with /github) into the Payload URL field,
5. set Content type to application/json.
6. choose which events to send (or "Send me everything").
7. click Add webhook ,,, github will send a ping, check if it shows a green checkmark.

if it still shows 400 after following the above,,,,,,paste your exact webhook URL here (with the token replaced by Xs) and ill take a look at the format ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hey Maheer, seems to have worked now. Before it didnt at all, but now its connected, all i did was get a new webhook and tried the things you said. It all worked Thank you!
