Hi everyone,

Subject: GitHub Education verification issue with taalim.ma domain

I am a student in Morocco applying for the Student Developer Pack. My school-issued email is ****4836@taalim.ma, which is the official Moroccan Ministry of Education domain. I have verified this email in my GitHub account and set it as primary, and I have enabled two-factor authentication.

However, the system rejects my application with the error: “We require applicants to use a school-issued email address to apply.”

I am attaching my exam summons as proof of enrollment

the "we require a school-issued email" rejection even though you're using your taalim.ma email suggests github's system may not have taalim.ma in its recognized institution / domain database,,, this is a known issue for some national education domains ,especially when they're shared across many schools under a ministry rather than being specific to one institution.

things to try .

• when reapplying,look for the option "My selected school has incorrect or incomplete information e.g. domains or campus location",,,,select this and explain that taalim.ma is the offficial Moroccan Ministry of Education domain used by students across Morocco.this routes your application differently and can flag the domain for review/ addition.
• your exam summons(convocation) is a good document choice,, make sure it clearly shows your full name(matching your github billing/profile name exactly),your school's name, and a current date,
• also make sure your github profile name (settings -> profile) AND billing name (settings -> billing) both match your document exactly,,,,these are two separate fieldss and both get checked.

about the student ID suggestion.
adding a student ID photo alongside your exam summons as a second document can sometimes help ,, but since the system only accepts one image, you'd need to photograph both documents together in one clean shot(side by side, clearly legible).

the taalim.ma domain issue is likely the root cause here ,,, the "incorrect school information" route is your best path to flag it.

the same fix likely applies,,, but could you share which school email domain you're using?the root cause of this error is usually that github's system doesn't recognize the specific domain as a school - issued email, and the solution depends on whether your domain is a national/ ministry-level shared domain(like taalim.ma)or a specific university domain .
in the meantime , try the steps i mentioned above for @abdelwakil-random,,,,especially the "My selected school has incorrect or incomplete information" option when reapplying,which routes your appplication for manual domain review rather than the automated check that's blocking you.
