hey @sbc640964 👋 . thanks for following up with the screenshots ,,,good to see this confirmed as legitimate.that "copilot max" perk email and the $200.00 off ,expires on jul 1, 2026 line item on your billing page match up exactly,,, so the credit is genuinely applied and showing correctly. glad you checked via the actual billing page rather than just trustingg the email outright though,, thats exactly the right instinct even when it turns out legitimate. good to confirm rather than assume either way,

Same here. I received the exact same email from no-reply@github.com with the subject line about being a "GitHub Copilot Max user" and getting a "one-time $200 credit" for downloading the GitHub Copilot app. I checked my billing page at github.com/settings/billing and github.com/settings/billing/summary — no sign of any $200 promotional credit whatsoever. My account only shows the regular monthly included credits (20,000 AI credits) that come with my Max subscription, which resets on Jul 1. Nothing extra. No promotional balance. Nada. What's worse: the email says "we're adding a one-time $200 credit to your account" as if it's already done. No "click to claim", no "will arrive in X days", no terms and conditions. Just a flat statement that it's been added. But it hasn't. This feels like deceptive marketing at best, outright fraud at worst. GitHub is using a fake "free credit" promise to push downloads of their new Copilot app. The email is indistinguishable from official communications — correct sender domain, links to real github.com pages, references to real products (Copilot Max, Copilot app). But the core promise is a lie. I'm planning to open a support ticket and will escalate this publicly if GitHub doesn't clarify. Has anyone actually received this $200 credit? Or is this a widespread bait-and-switch? Or is this a widespread bait-and-switch? To GitHub: If this is a "perk" that turns out to be just repackaging the credits we already pay for, that's dishonest. If it's a system bug, you need to communicate that. But right now it looks like you're misleading paying customers. |

Hi, If the $200 Copilot benefit was granted through a program, promotion, or GitHub initiative, it may not always appear as a separate balance within your account. You can check a few places: 1 - Go to Settings -> Billing and plans to see whether any credits, discounts, or promotional benefits are listed on your account. 2 - Go to Settings -> Copilot to verify that your Copilot subscription is active and associated with the account that received the email. 3 - Review the original email carefully, as it may include details about how the benefit is applied, whether it is a direct credit, a subscription benefit, or a reimbursement program. 4 - If you don't see any indication of the credit in Billing or Copilot settings, contact GitHub Support and provide the email you received. They can confirm whether the benefit has been applied and explain how it will be used. In many cases, promotional Copilot benefits are applied automatically toward eligible Copilot charges rather than appearing as a visible account balance, so the absence of a displayed credit does not necessarily mean it wasn't applied. |

Copilot in GitHub
Body
Hi,
I received an email saying that I have a $200 benefit/credit for GitHub Copilot.
I would like to understand where I can see this benefit inside my GitHub account.
Is there a billing page or Copilot settings page where the credit is displayed?
I want to confirm that the credit was actually applied to my account and understand how it will be used.
Thanks.
