School Email/Domain Issues

Hi everyone,

I have been trying to access Education Benefits using my school issued email:
s_202...@sustech.edu
Due to technical limitations, I cannot verify it.

I tried using my other emails, but it But it seems that It only requires the school issued email because all the other options are grayed out.

However, in the GitHub Docs website, it states that it is possible to apply using documents. But I can't seem to find the link to that anywhere. I've searched through this community too.

looking at your screenshot,,, that gray-out behavior happens specifically because the form recognizes"sudan university of science and technology"as an institution it has on file with a required .edu domain ,,, once it matches a known institution,it locks the email field to that domain and hides other options.

the document-based path does still exist,,,but its not a separate button on this screen.heres how to actually reach it :

• click "add and verify your school-issued email address"(the blue link in that yellow warning box),,this takes you to setttings -> emails where you add the.eduemail even if you cant fully verify it through normal means yet,
• alternatively,,,,try typing your school name slightly differently in the school search field(e.g. without "university of" or using an abbreviation) ,,,if it doesnt match a known institution in theirr database this time,the form usually falls back to letting you pick any email + upload a document instead, since it only locks to school-email-only when it has a confident institution match .
• if neither works ,,, the actual document upload path is normally reached via education.github.com/discount_requests/application directly (going around the dashboard flow entirely) ,,, worth trying that url fresh in case it presents the document option differently than the popup you screenshotted.

since your core issue is a technical inability to verify the .edu email (not that you dont have one) ,,,id also specificallly mention that distinction if you end up emailing education@github.com,,,,,,"i have a valid school email but cannot complete verification due to a technical limitation" is a clearer ask than "i dont have a school email"💙💙💙💙 .
