Hi everyone,

Hi,

I currently have an active GitHub Student Developer Pack. However, I am now working as a university lecturer and staff member.

I would like to switch my GitHub Education status from Student to Teacher. Unfortunately, my current Student benefits are still active, and I am unable to submit a new Teacher application.

Could you please advise if it is possible to update my status before the Student benefits expire, or if there is any process to transition from Student to Teacher?

As I am now using GitHub Copilot primarily for teaching, academic work, and software development, I would appreciate access to the Teacher benefits and AI credit allocation.

As far as I know, GitHub Education benefits are tied to the application that was approved. If you currently have an active Student Developer Pack, you may need to wait for the student benefits to expire before applying for Teacher benefits.

If there is no option available to submit a Teacher application while your Student status is active, I would recommend contacting GitHub Education Support directly and explaining your situation. They can advise whether your status can be updated manually or if an early transition is possible.
