Can I mark my own response as the accepted answer if it resolves the discussion, and would that still be considered valid for GitHub badge/progress tracking?

I want to make sure this does not violate any GitHub Community or badge-related guidelines. From a technical perspective, the answer addresses the original issue, but since I am the author of the response, I would like to confirm whether self-accepting an answer is allowed and whether it counts toward the relevant GitHub achievement or contribution criteria.
