I tried my student ID card photo , college portal nothing is working , im just getting this generic

We couldn’t verify your academic affiliation based on your submission (Jun 27, 2026) for user
Please use your device camera to submit academic affiliation documents.

I have used the device camera

Can anyone help me with this.

This usually happens when the system can’t automatically match the document details, even if the photo itself is clear. Try a few things:

• Make sure you’re using the device camera directly inside the verification process instead of uploading an existing image.
• Capture the full document with all corners visible and good lighting.
• If your student ID doesn’t have an expiration date, try using another document if available.
• Make sure your name on the document matches your account details exactly.
• If you have already tried several times, contact support because repeated submissions can keep failing even when the documents are valid.

sure let me try from the device camera itself instead of existing image , my college id does have expiry date and everything .

I understand the frustration. This verification can fail even when the document is valid, because the system is trying to automatically match the photo, name, school, and dates.

A few things that may help:

• Use the camera directly during the GitHub verification flow, not a previously saved photo.
• Take the photo in bright natural light, with no glare or shadows.
• Make sure the full ID/card/document is visible, including all corners.
• Check that your GitHub profile name matches the name on your student ID as closely as possible.
• If your college portal is used, make sure the page clearly shows your name, college name, and current enrollment/status.
• Try from a mobile browser if desktop is not working, or try another browser/device.

Repeated attempts usually won’t fix it if the automated system cannot read or match something. Support can review the case more directly.
