Questions regarding contacting github support about compromised account

Hey, I know that this place is solely for community discussion and won't do anything about my actual support ticket, but I have a couple of general questions since this is the first time something like this is happening to me and I didn't find anything online.

So, a few days ago my account got hacked. The password was changed, and the email and primary email as well. I submitted a ticket from the GitHub support page (I actually did it twice since the first time I didn't know that my account was hacked). I used the "Can't sign in..." link when it asks you for your account credentials in the login page in GitHub support, and used the "Compromised account" button and submitted my ticket with the email that was linked to my account (which is changed now). My questions are:

1. It has been around 3-4 days since I submitted my emails, and I still haven't received any responses in my email. Is it because they usually take longer to reply, or am I not going to receive any responses in my email? Should I have used another account that I had access to to contact support?
2. Is there even any hope of getting my account back since everything's changed now?
3. Is this a new GitHub hack or something that I'm not aware of? Since all my other socials and accounts are untouched, I ran virus scans across all my accounts, and there were no reports of malwares and nobody had access to my devices. I'm still confused about how this happened. The hacker needed access to my emails to do this. At the time that this happened, the only device I had turned on was my phone, and there are no other Google sessions except my phone and my laptop in my Google Activity page.
