Is using LeetHub V2 to upload LeetCode solutions compliant with GitHub policies?

Hello GitHub Community,

I am a computer science student and I use GitHub to maintain my LeetCode practice repository.

I use the LeetHub V2 browser extension to automatically upload my accepted LeetCode solutions to GitHub. I noticed that one accepted solution sometimes creates around 4–5 commits in my repository. On some days, I may solve 10–20 LeetCode problems, so the total number of commits can become relatively high.

I would like to ask whether using LeetHub V2 in this normal manner is acceptable under GitHub's policies. I am only uploading my own accepted LeetCode solutions and using GitHub as a personal learning repository. I am not trying to spam GitHub, abuse the API, or perform excessive automation.

Could someone please clarify the following?

1. Is it okay to continue using LeetHub V2 to upload my own LeetCode solutions?
2. Is it normal for one uploaded solution to generate multiple commits?
3. Could this type of commit activity or use of this extension ever put my GitHub account at risk, assuming I am using it only for my own coding practice?

Short answer: Yes, it's perfectly fine. LeetHub V2 is widely used by thousands of students and doesn't violate any GitHub policies.
On your specific concerns:

1. Multiple commits per solution (4-5 commits) — That's normal. LeetHub creates commits for different files (the solution code, the README with problem description, the stats update, etc.). It's not spam, it's just how the extension works. GitHub doesn't have a "too many commits" limit — commits are the expected way to update a repo.
2. 10-20 problems/day = 40-100 commits/day — Still well within normal usage. GitHub handles millions of repos with far higher commit frequencies (CI/CD pipelines, automated bots, etc.). A few hundred commits a day from a personal learning repo is nothing.
3. Could this put your account at risk? — No, as long as:

• The code is your own work (LeetCode solutions you wrote yourself)
• You're not using the extension to mass-fork/copy others' repos
• You're not pushing to repos you don't own
  LeetHub only pushes to your own repos with your own solutions, so it's indistinguishable from manually committing. GitHub's abuse policies target automation that harms the platform (spam forks, mass star manipulation, API abuse), not personal productivity tools.

4. One thing to be aware of — LeetCode's own terms say you shouldn't publicly share solutions (their content is copyrighted). But that's between you and LeetCode, not a GitHub policy issue. Many students do it anyway, just something to know.
   TL;DR — You're fine. Thousands of students use LeetHub daily without issues. Your commit volume is normal for an active learner.
