Hello GitHub Support Team,

I am unable to sign up for GitHub Copilot. Whenever I try to activate Copilot, I receive the following message:
"Your account is unable to sign up for Copilot. Please contact Support."

I have already verified that:

• My GitHub account is active and accessible.
• I can log in without any issues.
• I have tried using different browsers and devices, but the same message appears.

Could you please help me determine why my account is not eligible to sign up for GitHub Copilot and assist in enabling access if possible?

The message "Your account is unable to sign up for Copilot. Please contact Support" is an account-level restriction enforced directly on GitHub's servers. Because it is a security, policy, or billing flag tied to your specific user profile, standard browser troubleshooting (like clearing cache or changing devices) cannot bypass it.

Why this happens (Most Common Reasons)

GitHub automatic checks flag profiles and trigger this exact block for a few specific reasons:

1. Outstanding Account Balance: If your account had a prior trial, subscription, or failed renewal that resulted in an unpaid invoice, GitHub locks out new subscription sign-ups until the past due balance is cleared.
2. Account Age or Verification Restrictions: If your GitHub profile is very new, or if your primary account email has not been fully verified, access to premium AI pipelines is automatically suspended.
3. Region or Trade Compliance Flags: GitHub is legally required to restrict high-performance AI deployment (like Copilot) based on your account's regional metadata or network routing properties.

What you can double-check right now:

• Navigate to your [GitHub Billing Settings](https://github.com/settings/emails) to verify your account has a valid, up-to-date payment method and absolutely zero pending balances.
• Go to your GitHub Email Settings and make sure your primary email address is securely marked as verified.
