I have exactly the same issue, it says both my first and last name can't be recognised. I've submitted over 8 applications in the past 1.5h. I tried different combinations of:
To no avail: even though my name is on both documents exactly as in GitHub, it doesn't recognise it. In the intranet page the name is in big bold font and still nothing. This is a highly frustrating and convoluted process, especially when, as in my case, the email is of the form .ac.uk, .edu, or some other national higher education domain. In such cases, why not just accept a validated email as proof the user still belongs to an education institution? Would save a lot of CO2 emissions in revalidation attempts and posts on this forum. |

Verification Help & Guidance
Hi everyone,
I am stuck in a rejection loop with my GitHub Faculty application due to what seems to be an automated name-parsing bug.
The system continuously rejects me with this message:
"Please ensure that your academic affiliation document contains your first name exactly as it appears in your GitHub billing information."
However, I have verified multiple times that my name is spelled EXACTLY the same across all required fields:
Official School Document (Certificate of Employment)
GitHub Public Profile
GitHub Billing/Payment Information
There are absolutely no typos, nicknames, or variations. Every single letter and spacing matches perfectly.
