Issues vs. Notifications - This is confusing!

I'm confused why roughly the same information, but with slight differences is displayed in these different pages:

• https://github.com/issues
• https://github.com/notifications
• https://github.com/discussions
• https://github.com/YOU?direction=desc&sort=updated&tab=stars
• GitHub.com's homepage's "Recent Activity" section.

The most confusing duplication of content is the Issues page vs. Notifications page vs. "Recent Activity".

Sometimes I need to go to the Issues page to get links to issues I want to read that aren't in the Notifications page, and vice-versa. I know the rules are well-defined somewhere, but it's all a bit intimidating for new users.
