I like the behaviour of IBus. It cycles all layouts / input methods. But only if you hold the modifier key. Let's say you get layout A, B, C, D installed. If you use A and B only most of time. The Super+Space key will only switch between A and B. The layout list will look like A-B-C-D when one is using A, and B-A-C-D when one is B. The behaviour change when you hold the Super key and press Space the 2nd time, which will transform A-B-C-D into C-A-B-D. The popup OSD shows me the current list order. |

It would be useful if Mint allowed binding a shortcut to toggle only between two chosen keyboard layouts, while keeping additional layouts accessible only via the panel/menu.
Right now the shortcut cycles through all configured layouts. A setting to restrict the toggle to a subset (e.g. two main languages) would make switching more efficient without removing access to extra layouts.
