There is already a SRU in proposed: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wireless-regdb/+bug/2144719 |

Thank you, Fantu. That is a great suggestion! Unfortunately, I don't know how to activate pre-released updates on Linux Mint. My understanding was that, contrary to Ubuntu, Mint does not have pre-released updates. |

Unfortunately, enabling updates proposed by mintupdate is not supported. It would be good if added atleast in "software sources"->"optional sources". As workaround to add manually from terminal: for add proposed repo:
and finally to install the package from proposed (by default it avoid autoupdate any packages from proposed): |

Hello,
the wireless-regdb included in Mint 22.3 is from October of 2025 and outdated. There are already three newer versions:
https://mirrors.edge.kernel.org/pub/software/network/wireless-regdb/
This is creating real life issues (see below).
Could we please have a timely update of the repositories with the newest wireless-regdb file(s)? Or is there a way one can install that manually without causing issues down the line?
For example, Canada has released additional WiFi channels in July of 2025 (including 5 GHz channels 169, 173, and 177). Recently, my access point learned that through an update of its own and has started using those channels automatically, probably because they are less crowded. Suddently, my Linux Mint 22.3 device is unable to find my WiFi SSID. It took me hours to figure out what's going on. My cellphone has no problem finding and using the very same SSID.
Thank you.
