feature request: Turn off text in the left sidepanel of the new 22.3 menu

For now I'm using classic menu applet but I'd love to see either an official option for old menu or at least the ability to turn off the text and shrink the left sidepanel of the new menu back down to just icons, kind of how it was in the old menu.
