Bindery is an automated book download manager for Usenet and torrents. Monitors author catalogs, searches Newznab/Torznab
indexers via Prowlarr, grabs via qBittorrent/SABnzbd/NZBGet/Transmission, and organizes ebooks and audiobooks into a
library. Closest equivalent to Radarr/Sonarr for books — filling the gap left by Readarr's stagnation.
Written in Go + React. Single binary, SQLite, ships as a multi-arch Docker image (amd64/arm64). Active development; v1.10
released May 2026. Has active contributors submitting PRs and an open issue tracker with real triage.
The upstream image uses distroless/nonroot. An LSIO image would add the standard PUID/PGID entrypoint and s6-overlay that
the community expects.
Note: the main alternative in this space (Chaptarr) is closed source with a private repository. Bindery is MIT licensed
and fully auditable — relevant for anyone cautious about running opaque binaries on their network.
