Alarm Clock

I'm using LMS since ages, but as a passionated HA user I playing around with MA since very early releases.
I can see the great progress this project makes and in many aspects MA is a worthy successor. But there is one thing I'm missing: An alarm clock feature like in LMS, but with an integration to HA,so a trigger can send to HA to do some additional actions like switch on lights.

I was not able to find a good solution in HA. There is a Lovelace card available, but it works only if the card is open.

Why not just use an input_datetime?
